We are transforming communities TOGETHER!
Rise is a nonprofit organization working to connect communities with local institutions to empower the revitalization of neighborhoods in Greater St. Louis. Rise acts as a resource and partner to the community, working together to make successful neighborhood revitalization possible.
We are also the leading nonprofit developer of affordable housing in our region. As a nonprofit community developer, we have aided the development of more than 5,500 homes and 137,000 square feet of commercial space. We have supported 42 communities across the region as a community developer, consultant, and lender.
As part of our mission, Rise provides community planning services to nonprofits, foundations, companies, and governments in the St. Louis region. Community plans lay the groundwork for building stronger, more equitable neighborhoods. We believe it is vital to give community stakeholders a voice. These plans become blueprints for action and success.
Rise also maintains a variety of data for areas throughout the St. Louis region. We also assist in the collection and creation of new data specific to a particular development or neighborhood, and leverage partnerships for GIS and data analysis needs of our clients and communities.
We created a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) to increase access to capital across the housing development and construction sectors in our service area, and support small developers and contractors with critical working capital, early stage development funding, and construction loans for small-scale developments, which serve to stabilize blocks, build wealth, and support community stability and growth.
Rise’s capacity building includes individualized technical assistance as well as group training classes for area CDCs. Our individualized technical assistance focuses on six categories of organizational capacity development:
LEADERSHIP AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT
SMALL BUSINESS MODELED OPERATIONS
ORGANIZATIONAL FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT
PLANNING, IMPLEMENTATION AND EVALUATION
COMMUNITY SUPPORT
